The Nutrient Profiling Model (NPM) was developed by the Food Standards Agency in 2004, using a scoring system to indicate whether a food is defined as ‘less healthy’ (HFSS) or ‘healthier’ (non-HFSS). Food and drink manufacturers have provided 2 billion portions of fibre to the nation since 2021 through FDF's Action on Fibre campaign. This progress has been driven by significant investment from Action on Fibre members to update recipes and launch new products that give people's diets a fibre boost.
