Trade negotiations with Israel begin

Our head of international trade Dominic Goudie gives his view following the Department of International Trade's announcement that negotiations for a trade deal with Israel have launched.

The FDF Head of International Trade Dominic Goudie said:
“We welcome the launch of trade talks with Israel which we hope will build on the existing agreement between our countries by liberalising remaining tariffs, delivering simpler rules of origin and introducing other measures to facilitate increased trade in food and drink.
“We hope a new trade deal will deliver ambitious provisions to boost innovation, supporting new product development while ensuring valuable intellectual property is protected.”
