National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates are important considerations for FDF as it is relevant to the competitiveness of, and employment levels in, the UK food and drink sector.

FDF supports the vital work of the independent Low Pay Commission in providing evidence-based recommendations regarding NLW and NMW rates and the enforcement work of HMRC to the UK Government.

In 2022, the FDF again submitted evidence to the LPC’s annual consultation expressing our support of the LPC’s remit to bring NLW rates up to two-thirds of median earnings by 2024. This response was formed in consultation with members and our full response will be available to read upon the publication of the LPC’s report later this year.
