Premier Foods introduced several higher-fibre products in 2023, with the aim to promote awareness of the importance of fibre.

Premier Foods were pleased to launch a number of higher fibre products in 2023 including the new Plantastic plant-based protein pots that are also higher in fibre, extending the Mr Kipling Deliciously Good Range and a Hovis best of both bread mix.

In 2022, Premier Foods were pleased to introduce a new range of 100% plant-based protein pots with Plantastic. As well as being non-HFSS compliant, all are high in protein, low in sugar, low in fat and low in saturated fat.

Our Bolognese Pasta and Cajun Rice variants also provide a source of fibre as well as being full of veggie pieces, making them a great choice for health-conscious consumers. Our Bolognese Pasta Pot contains 74kcal and 1.2g fibre per 100g and our Cajun Rice variant has 3.5g fibre per portion.

Mr Kipling

As an extension to the Mr Kipling Deliciously Good Range, Premier Foods introduced new seasonal variants including Toffee Apple Pies; Plum, Pear & Cinnamon Pies and Festive Pies. All of which are non-high fat, sugar and salt (non-HFSS), 30% less sugar comnpared to standard equivalents and deliver a source of fibre.

Since launching in the last few months of 2022, these products have contributed 13.9 tonnes of fibre to the UK diet.

Premier Foods also launched the Hovis Best of Both Bread Mix. This is high in fibre with 6.4g fibre per 100g and contributed 1.3 tonnes of fibre to the UK diet.

In 2023 we will continue to raise internal awareness on the importance of fibre through education and training to influence our innovation pipelines and deliver more products to the market which are either a source of or high in fibre.
