FDF Scotland response to Scottish Government restricting food and drink promotions regulations
Food and Drink Federation Scotland has responded to the Scottish Government consultation on restricting promotions of food and drink regulations.
Scottish food and drink producers are playing a key role in helping consumers to achieve a healthy balanced diet. From changing recipes (reformulation) and portion sizing to new product development and advice to consumers. FDF members’ voluntary work is already delivering positive changes to shopping baskets.
Our Reformulation team is helping small to medium sized food companies to make their food healthier.
Since the launch of Action on Fibre in September 2021, our members have been working hard to help bridge the gap between intakes and recommendations. We are very excited to share some of the work our members have been doing over the past few months, from great social media campaigns to launching new and exciting higher fibre products.
Reformulation, new product development and portion sizing are key actions for food and drink manufactures in the fight against obesity.
FDF Scotland delivers Reformulation for Health, a Scottish Government funded programme to support smaller businesses to make their products healthier. This support is available for both FDF members and non-members.
Our members have pledged to take Action on Fibre and help bridge the gap between fibre intakes and the dietary recommendation.
All sectors of the food industry have a role to support a transition towards more sustainable healthy diets. The FDF is working with members to consider what this means for food and drink manufacturers.
